Spicy Teriyaki Steak

My husband loves steak. I think they all do.. He’s been asking to make steak for the past three weeks, and since yesterday was his birthday, we made steak. This time we pan fried it, usually we would prefer to grill, but it’s a little difficult since it gets dark so early now. This marinade was SO good and SO simple – and I’ll be sharing with you my husband’s technique for that extra marinade flavor 🙂

  • 2 steaks – whatever cut you prefer
  • 1 cup of teriyaki sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of red pepper flakes
  • 2 teaspoons of fresh or dried parsley flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of dried or fresh thyme

  • Add all marinade ingredients to a medium size bowl, mix well, preferably with a whisk
  • Add your steak to a zip lock bag, then pour the marinade over the steak in the bag
  • Close the bag, then gently work the marinade into the meat
  • Refrigerate overnight or at least a few hours for maximum flavor
  • When ready to cook, place a little olive oil in a skillet, bring to medium high heat
  • Fry the steaks one at a time, searing the outside and then turning down the heat to medium low
  • With your first steak, pour half of the leftover marinade into the skillet with steak
  • Cook for about 5 minutes per side or until heat thermometer reads 140 degrees for a medium steak – or until desired doneness
  • Repeat for second steak
  • Enjoy!

“And without faith it is impossible to please Him,
for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.”
