Pumpkin Spice Bread

Since it was the last day of October when I made this, I just had to bake something pumpkin! This pumpkin spiced bread is absolutely delicious, moist, and tastes just like fall.

Makes 2 standard loaves

  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 1 cup of oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 15 oz. ¬†pure pumpkin
  • 3/4 cup of water
  • 3 cups of flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. table salt
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg

  • Preheat oven to 325, grease loaf pans
  • Beat sugar and oil until blended
  • Add eggs, blending after each one
  • Add pumpkin and water, beat
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and spices
  • Add to pumpkin mixture, small amounts at a time until all blended
  • Pour batter evenly into pans
  • Bake for about an hour – mine took about an hour and fifteen minutes
  • Check for done-ness by inserting a toothpick until it comes out clean

Happy baking!

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.
Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.”
